Approximately 40% of participants entered a destabilization phase characterized by career disruption, relational upheaval, or identity disorientation, while 60% reported optimization, including heightened purpose, creativity, and emotional intelligence. The study explores how individual differences in psychological flexibility and integration capacity shape these divergent outcomes. By situating STEs within contemporary frameworks of leadership and personal development, the research reframes spiritual emergence not as pathology but as a profound reorganization of self and vocation—offering new insights for understanding transformation in modern professional life.
Dr. Jeffrey Overall Ph.D. is a professor of conscious entrepreneurship and strategy whose work examines how consciousness expansion influences leadership, ethical decision-making, and organizational well-being. He has held academic appointments at Ontario Tech University, Toronto Metropolitan University, Nipissing University, and Leibniz Universität Hannover in Germany. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Overall has bridged academic research, entrepreneurship, and strategic consulting, integrating insights from organizational psychology, ethics, and consciousness studies. He has published more than 60 scholarly works and authored Capitalist Buddha: Waking Up to Conscious Economics. He was the principal investigator of a $1 million Government of Canada project on workplace mental health and leadership among BIPOC women. Through his social-enterprise venture, The Professor Inc., he translates research into practical tools for cultivating conscious leadership and organizational transformation.
