Children Who Have Near-Death Experiences – Birth To Six Years

Adults and children who have a near-death experience before the age of six display similar patterns with scenarios and aftereffects, but they are worlds apart in how the phenomenon affects them – both at the moment and over time. The majority are born aware and awake of being in the womb, of life before this one, even of other families, other homes, other worlds. Meaning does not interest them. Rather, they are faced with compensate or change, rather than integrate. The majority begin abstracting before the first grade. Dark light is as comfortable to them as white or clear light. Their defense mechanism is leaving their body and viewing it from above. Typical characteristics: heightened senses, vivid imagination, intellectual curiosity and drive, psychic/intuitive, lonely, higher IQ, deep capacity to care, great potential for an ethical path, aware of future, strongly independent even if shy, nonlinear development. They think differently than anyone else in the family.

P.M.H. Atwater is an international authority on near-death states and the author of twenty-one books. Her writings have appeared in numerous magazines, newsletters, and journals. Some of her research has been validated in clinical settings, and mentioned in Lancet Medical Journal. She has been given numerous citations, appeared on television talk shows, and spoken twice to groups at the UN about her work. She donated the copyright of The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences to the IANDS. To date, her research covers nearly 5,000 adult and child experiencers. Her latest, The Forever-Angels: Near-Death Experiences in Childhood and Their Life-Long Impact, challenges the entire field of study and changes the conversation about life and death, reincarnation, and ideas about the life continuum. She publishes a free monthly newsletter – “For The Curious” – and a blog for questions about NDE and related matters. Her present research will be published in 2025: Aliens and the Near-Death Experience (Bear & Co.).
