The Stages of the Soul’s Ascension
The aim of this talk is to outline the four stages of the Soul’s Ascension that I have identified over years of research (Intention – Realisation – Integration – Expansion), which represent a common journey for those who have undergone a Near-Death Experience or other STEs, but they also appear in individuals who, despite not having had a near-death experience, have extensively studied these phenomena or have explored them through meditation or other spiritual practices.

A Proof of God
In order to say anything about the existence of God, we first need to say what it is. If we assume that “God” names a type of experience, then proofs of God shouldn’t start from the outside, as has historically been the case. Instead, we begin with the direct knowing of God, or unitive experience. This includes an unbounded sense of “here” and “now” – as “everywhere” and “always.” If this experience is not just something that happens in the brain, we should expect that it may be possible to access things that are normally experienced as distant (in space and time). Our supernormal abilities involving ESP, PK, healing, etc. do just that. Thus, the reality of God can be inferred from psi. In formal logic, this is a weak proof, but it gives another window on why science is so resistant to psi – because it implies God.
I am British, came through the New Age in London in the 1980s, married a Turkish woman, and moved to Istanbul, where I have had a family life. I’ve taught English and worked proofreading/editing English language texts. Through this time, I had various psychospiritual experiences, including two transformative awakenings (the first, a nine-month period on my Saturn return, for which I found the name “initiation,” and the second, a similar but less specific period around my double Saturn return, which I called “regeneration”). I wrote a book, Anthropology and Mysticism in the Making of Initiation, finally completing it during the regeneration. I’ve had four articles published, two in EdgeScience magazine and two in the Journal of Consciousness Studies. I’m currently working on a book about the perennial philosophy today, which will be quite heavy if I finish it!
